After creating and playing for several bands on the college and east coast club circut Andrew Shankman moved to the most musically drained patch of burnt out industrial post hippie emo urban pool in the world. Exhausted, irritated and fed up with crap music.
Jumpcuts began as the brainchild of Andy Shankman, a longtime fixture on the Baltimore music scene who cut his teeth working on tour for the band Lake Trout. Shankman formed the first incarnation of Jumpcuts after a flurry of songwriting activity that produced most of the songs on Electrickery. The songs were largely composed on guitar and then transposed to synthesizer, Shankman slowly piecing together tracks on MIDI with co-arranger Gideon Breidegam. The gleaming keyboard lines were then recorded through amps and given muscle by producer Rob Girardi (Beach House) and drummer David Bergander (Celebration) at Lord Baltimore Studios.
Uninterested in hearing musical masturabation or micturation. Lost somewhere between slugging down a local micro brew and claiming to be quiting smoking within six months. Unable to tell the difference between moonshine and more moonshine. JUMPCUTS.
also soundcloud, bandcamp, twitter, and facebook suck... but Jumpcuts is on there
