Otis Heat is an alterna-funk rock trio from Portland, OR that began as the result of a near fatal car crash between members in 2008. An illusive drifter, named Otis Heat rescued the semi-conscious men from their hazardous cars and called for help. Post crash, the individuals discussed music while laying in hospital beds, later to bring the discussion into a musical exploration. At which point, song-writer, Sean O'Neill was given his first bass guitar by the owner of the Portland Chinese Times and he began playing bass for the band, consisting of Mike Warner on Guitar and, then, Adam Lucas on drums. Lucas departed after the band's first, home recorded, album, and, drummer, Scotty Gervais (Young Immortals, Fenbi) joined, bringing a new high octane punch to the group. The group released it's second full length, Yoon, in 2011. Gervais then departed and the current drummer is Buddy Weeks (The Damn Dirty Apes) To date the band has performed at the Doug Fir(Portland), The Viper Room (LA), the Goodfoot (Portland), Rock and Roll Hotel (D.C.), Cake Shop(NYC), and played with Grammy nominated, Bruno Mars and Janelle Monae. Performances include a broad variety of authentic music. The band has 3 hours of original songs, among select covers.
