Formed in 2001, SF's Tartufi released 3 albums as a power-pop trio, before members Lynne Angel and Brian Gorman decided to switch gears & head in a new direction. Hitting the studio armed with bigger amps and modified loop stations, they began developing their new sound. The result was “Us Upon Buildings Upon Us”, recorded with Tim Green (Joanna Newsom, Melvins).
In 2008 they recorded “Nests of Waves and Wire”, an album that they are extremely proud of and that is, without a doubt, their most mature work to date. Further exploring the boundaries of vocal & instrumental layering, polyrhythmic deconstruction & song arrangement, it’s a lush and weighty mix of the band's compositional sensibilities and sonic daydreams.
