Adam Crochet / Bio

Louisiana native Adam Crochet is a singer, songwriter, and guitar player living in New Orleans.

Adam Crochet's current release Real Good Love is a collection of honest solo performances and driving band arrangements showcasing Crochet’s soulful voice, rollicking guitar and clever songs. Crochet is the originator of Louisiana Smooth Blues, a genre that blends classic blues, New Orleans funk, soul and R&B as well as Louisiana folk and roots music. Full with raw emotion and danceable grooves, Crochet’s sound has drawn comparisons to Allen Toussaint, Buddy Guy and John Mooney. As a performer, Crochet is an improvisational specialist, skillful and open-hearted, improvising solos, arrangements and even lyrics. In fact, according to Crochet, some of his most popular songs were written “In a moment, live on stage.”

Crochet found his first guitar in his grandfather’s attic in Acadiana and he played his first paying gig in New Orleans at 14 years old. Since then, Crochet has played with his own projects and collaborated with countless musicians. Today, Crochet stays busy, mainly writing and performing original songs and backing Monk Boudrueaux & the Golden Eagles and the Wild Magnolias, two of New Orleans legendary Mardi Gras Indian groups. Equally at home trading blues leads with Tommy Castro and Popa Chubby on a Blues Cruise, getting funky with Walter “Wolfman” Washington in a sweaty New Orleans bar, or singing songs solo with a resonator guitar on a festival stage, Adam Crochet can always be found somewhere playing hard and putting on a show.
