You don’t know much,
That’s plain to see,
Otherwise you, you would know me.
So go the catchy opening lines off the title track of Lindsay Meredith’s debut EP, You Don’t Know Me. It’s a fitting message from a girl who in just over two years, has caught the public’s attention and gone from playing intimate, solo café shows to putting together her backing band, Lost Caravan, and being invited to perform at the Sundance Film Festival, Colorado State Fair, Aspen’s Little Nell, RAW and countless other events for audiences of thousands. But she’s nowhere near satisfied… Based out of the same Denver, CO neighborhoods that helped spawn The Lumineers and Churchill, Meredith is poised to put the Mile High City on the map yet again.
It was early 2012 when Meredith’s new-found sound came as a sudden awakening and since that moment, she’s wasted no time unleashing it upon the public. Blessed with sultry vocals and catchy songwriting abilities that could easily have been used for saccharine-sweet pop, she instead chose to fuse her radio-friendly sensibilities with raucous Balkan flavor to create something entirely new. Described as “Rodrigo y Gabriela meets Gwen Stefani”, she’s coined her distinctive blend of pop-rock and gypsy jazz, Gypsy Rock, a style as exotic and lively as the artist herself.
But Meredith isn't even close to finished. She and the Lost Caravan are igniting stages with spine-tingling musicianship, catchy melodies, and captivating vocals, and show no signs of stopping. You’ll want to keep an eye out for this girl.
