Boba Funk has been hailed as one of the best Funk bands in the Wilmington, NC area. An honor that this three piece is more than willing to accept. With lead vocals from drummer Stuart Currin, and backups from both guitar player Bill Patterson and bass player Alex Vincent, they will have you wondering how three people can create such a rich and robust sound. For three years this group has played many places in the surrounding music scene from Carolina Beach to Topsail Beach, including; Homeport, the Brass Pelican, The Beach House, and Hell's Kitchen to name a few. The groups song selection is an amalgamation of tunes from the 60's to today, with a focus on getting you up and moving on the dance floor. Some of the most popular choices are; Smokey Robinson's "I Second That Emotion", Van Morrison's "Wild Night", The Red Hot Chili Peppers' "Aeroplane", Sly and the Family Stones' "Thank You Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin", and Bob Marley's "Small Axe". With a killer set list, great sound, and the possibility of some original songs on the way, this band is well on their way to proving themselves one of the local powerhouses.
