Not only a singer, songwriter, producer, drummer, and all around performer; he is a trained recording engineer; has done extensive work as an engineer in many area studios; and does beats and vocal arrangements for many local artists. Kal-El was the frontman of the neo-soul, R&B go-go band “Faycez-u-know” & "Familiar Faces" which performs at many local venues. Recently, he is featured as a one of the vocalists on the “guiltypleasures” project “lovestories.” Their single “Anticipation (The Remix)” ( Featuring Mycah Chevalier) is getting countless spins in New York, Philly, California, overseas and “Anticipation (The Remix)” is Now in rotation on D.C.’s Own WHUR 96.3FM. As a songwriter, he has penned songs for many local artists, most notably Mycah Chevalier, collaborations with J. Holiday & Ayanna Crawley, and most recently Larry Belafonte. Kal-El’s live performance is simply a crowd pleasing experience.
