Clarence Williams Jr. a.k.a CL Williams is a Gospel Artist from Canton, Ohio.
Born on the 5th of December, CL comes from a family of 10 in which he is the youngest. His Father, the late Rev. Clarence L. Williams Sr., was the Founder and Pastor of St. John Missionary Baptist Church of Canton, Ohio. There, is where CL's foundation and a genuine love for God began. He was captivated early on by the sound of music as he frequently heard his older siblings sing at home and at church. Music and Faith was always encouraged by his father and it was a central part of the Williams family. At the age of 14, CL was trained to play the organ for his father's church and soon began writing songs with his closest relatives. Before growing into a solo artist, he sung in many groups and choirs such as 4U2NV, New Gen (Generation), SoF (Sounds of Faith), and also K. Miles and RP (Resurrected Praise) just to name a few.
CL established himself as a compelling performer with cross-over appeal, becoming an highly sought after local artist for multi-genre musical projects. CL Williams has shared the stage with artists such as nationally known Jonathan Dunn, Tonya Baker, Stacey Arielle, Kory Miles, and NuSound.
CL currently serves as a Praise and Worship Leader at Antioch Baptist Church, a prominent Church in Canton, under the Leadership of Pastor Richard L. Jordan. It was here that God began to reveal His awesome plan for CL's life. Williams knew that God had not given him this gift for it to merely be kept in the four walls of the church, but that he was destined, for the Glory of God, to proclaim the Gospel and Power of Jesus Christ to the world. He recalls having series of dreams in which the Angels would sing these songs that were unlike anything he had ever heard before. CL cites the songs as being "a clear reflection of pure worship in heaven". Williams felt led by God "to create music that encourages, heals, saves, and lifts up the name of Jesus".
On February 3, 2013, C.L. Williams released his first single, “Wanna Be Ready?”, produced by Robert Hale of EPhap Productions. Williams undoubtedly showcases his versatility as a vocalist and songwriter. The track is a hot fusion of Pop, R&B, and Gospel. The song is a highly energy driven, mind boggling tune that makes you ask the question, “Am I ready for Jesus to return?"
