A rock band with Puerto Rican roots, Yeva takes their name from the Spanish verb "llevar," to take somewhere, bring, bear or carry. Their lyrics are both in English and Spanish, and although the audience might not understand the words that are spilling from singer's soulful voices, all can understand the rhythms flying out of their instruments. Performing at 1:30 p.m., you would never be able to tell by their levels of enthusiasm and on-stage presence that the temperatures were similar to those experienced in Hell. The audience was dancing to the band's Latin-infused congo beats and emotional guitar licks. All in all, their music is something that has the ability to break cultural barriers with a universal passion: good music.
