Apollo Theater Star of Tomorrow Tyler Madison Holloway has the beauty of Beyonce, the vocal power of Christina, and her own unique flair that’s sure to make her the next pop star!” writes the Stratford Star (March 2013) of Tyler's catchy pop tune Popularge (reverbnation.com/tylerholloway). But close your eyes and open your ears, and you’ll hear this 15-year old prodigy glide seamlessly between the old-world, glamorous sound of Billie Holiday and Lena Horn with each perfect-pitched and emotion-filled note. She’s more than a “natural”--- Tyler’s talent is nothing short of miraculous!" raves long-time, NYC promoter John Vargas. It's no wonder Tyler recieved a standing ovation from the notoriously tough Apollo Theater audience for her rendition of Almost Like Being in Love on April 14, 2010, at the tender age of 11, where she was selected as an Apollo Theater Star of Tomorrow. According to Apollo Amateur Night Producer Marion J. Caffey, "Not only is Tyler following in the famous footsteps of Jazz Greats Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn, and Billie Holiday, (who all got their start at the World Famous Apollo), but "Tyler made her own history tonight as the youngest Jazz Act to ever "play" the Apollo---that is, since Ella Fitzgerald shined on the Apollo Stage in her career debut at age 17!" With booking credits from NYC to the Trump Atlantic City Hotel and Casino in August 2013, Tyler's talents have also garnered her the honor of being having her self-written, catchy Pop tune, POPULARGE, produced by Christina Aguilera's mega producer Heather Holley. Tyler has also had the opportunity to open for some of the greatest musical acts in history including GRAMMY AWARD WINNER Doodle Bug of the Digable Planets. Since her debut, Tyler's talent has been recognized with numerous prestigious awards, including the Youth in Action Award presented by the International Women in Jazz (IWJ) Festival Committee in New York City; the That's Entertainment's Billie Holiday Award; as well as, the Bill Robinson Most Talented Vocalist Competition, at NYC'S Jazz 966. In June 2013, Tyler's vocal talents landed her the booking for the 2014 Whitney Houston Legends Tour where Tyler delivered Whitney's greatest hits with remarkable ease, emotion, and power. Most recently, Tyler was honored with inclusion into the 2013 CBGB Music & Film Festival in NYC's Times Square where she performed in the line up along with music greats such as Lisa Loeb, the Wallflowers, Toby Lightman, and more.
Tyler wears her heart on her sleeve in her most recent creation, the NEWTOWN ANTHEM---where she asks the simple question (as a youngster residing only a couple towns over from Sandy Hook tragedy)---Why The Babies? Tyler invites her growing music fan base to join her in teaming up with hundreds of local musicians and artists to raise funds for the "Victoria Leigh Soto Endowed Memorial Scholarship Fund" (in honor of the courageous, school teacher, Victoria Soto, slain in the Sandy Hook tragedy, who resided in Tyler’s hometown of Stratford, CT) at Tyler's upcoming Talent2Change Fundraising Showcase.
