Soon to outgrow their day jobs, Andy Colbert and Trey Pitts, began playing together in May, 2005 as a way to take the edge off from the daily grind. The fast pickin’, soulful singing, barefoot tappin’ sounds pouring from the speakers proved that their music could raise any crowd to their feet and get em swingin'. Naturally the day jobs tumbled in the rearveiw mirror as the boys pressed on to start what has become a very successfull musical career.
The Mason Jars, founded by singer/songwriter Andy Colbert, is a craving sound which compiles the essence of Americana rock. Stir in some country, a little bluegrass, a dash of blues and you got yourself a two-man band with a full band punch. To reiterate that every performance is addicting and captivating, Trey Pitts, lead guitarist, picks his way through every song with lighting fast fingers that are unmatched amongst acoustic players. Andy brings a rise to your eardrums with an incredibally soulful voice and upbeat percussive rhythm guitar. Put that harmonica to his lips and watch the crowd hit the dance floor.
This isn't your average two-man band singing somber songs about what could have been. It is in fact what everyone needs to accompany their cold frosty beer on a Friday or Saturday night. You like to dance? They like to make you dance. You like to drink? They like it when you buy them drinks. Its simple math really. One hell of a singer/songwriter plus one hell of a guitar picker equals The Mason Jars, a two-man band that has never let down a crowd. Sorry for partying.
