Old Testament Folk from Outer Space
Faithful Sinners is a full-bodied spirit; a caravan on a dusty red plain; a gritty portal to a guarded heart. Alongside vocals that dynamically range from rasping to sopranic, the sound of this duo is made large by the inclusion of the musical saw unusually played as a melodic lead instrument, its engulfing pitch and sentient voice conveying the vulnerability of its mistress. Rhythm and depth are rouged in the cloth by guitartistry both classical and bluesy, with intricate finger-picking and unexpected chords. Since forming in 2011 with the goal of lyrical expression and musical expansion, Faithful Sinners has been featured on local and regional radio shows such as Saturday Light Brigade, as well as opened for national touring acts such as Wild Belle, He’s My Brother She’s My Sister, Pearl and the Beard, and Stephanie Nilles. They recently hosted the first ever Pittsburgh Musical Saw Festival, and were also awarded the Best Song Award for 'Something We Don’t' during Pittsburgh’s 48 Hour Music Video Competition. As Rob Gray of Junktape Studios reports, "Faithful Sinners is a band that truly highlights the spirit of Pittsburgh. Keep an eye out for this group they are truly a sight to be seen."
