King Z was raised in Maywood,IL which would later be dubbed as "Murda Woodz", a small suburb on the outskirts of the westside of Chicago. Maywood, although a suburb, is all except that, its the "Hood". As a child growing up in an environment riddled with drug dealers, homicide and poverty King Z was forced to grow up fast and embrace an entrepreneurial spirit. "Youngin wanted cash serve and pass on the asphalt" (King Z Lyrics from "Dreamin")
Rap and Hip-Hop music was always apart of the King's life, "I remember when I first really started getting into rap and hanging onto rappers lyrics, Tupac really got me on rap" says King Z. The King was inspired greatly by Tupac Shakur and other artist such as DMX, Young Jeezy Yo Gotti, Lil Boosie and 2 chainz. The King's motto is "Real" no matter what the genre of music he believes it should be "Real", it should have real emotion, real experience, real feeling and it can never be just words on paper or words that rhyme.
King Z has a very commanding and powerful demeanor that exudes through his music. A "Boss" like demeanor and a harmonic voice with a slight grit of anguish. His lyrics and grammar let you know the city that he represents but his thoughts delivered through music will connect with every listener. The King Is Here!
