The Hurt Project is pursuing a new take on electric blues while honoring the musical traditions that make the blues great. What began as an offshoot of an up-and-coming classic blues band is blossoming into a new and exciting take on the blues, while still being anchored firmly in the musical traditions that have kept the blues alive and kicking through the years.
In the three years that The Hurt Project has been together, the band has released a studio album of classic blues, was honored to be included in two Hurricane Sandy benefit performances, and completed a ten day tour of the Montana blues circuit where the group played intimate, 30-person venues all the way up to 2,000-person festivals. THP also gigs regularly around New York City, where the band is based.
THP is: Jasmin on vocals, Marlon on guitar, the Bull on harp, Donald on bass, and David on drums.
Several original blues tunes by The Hurt Project are featured on their recent studio release, "The Shady Bear Sessions."
