I asked for suggestions as to what to write in our band bio. One suggestion from a friend was to usurp another band’s press releases and pretend they were our own:
The boys like to put on their swim trousers (that's British for shorts) and hop into the pool, right in front of the very surprised press corps! 'What wankers!' they must think to themselves! Then it's back to the hotel room, where there's always a fan or two to run the bath. One of the things Various Eggs find so hard about touring is that sometimes, they don't even get to see the city! "When we toured Tokyo," jokes Various Eggs, "I didn't even get to see the emperor!"
But what really gets Various Eggs going is the music, "Without the music," says Various Eggs, "we'd just be some chaps running around with our heads screwed on backwards!"
I like the subversive nature of this suggestion, but I wonder if it creates any kind of copyright infringement issue. Even if it did, using this text might fall under a copyright fair-use exception as parody.
Various Eggs formed in the Spring of 2009 in Bridgeton, New Jersey. Various Eggs formed into more solid form in the summer of 2010, when we changed from a few guys noodling around to an attempt to put ourselves out there.
