Missing Sibling is a trio from Fort Worth, Tx consisting of Drew Gabbert (guitar and vocals), Todd Walker (bass and vocals) and Johnny Bell (drums). In May of 2012 the new band recorded a 5 song EP titled "Pick A Family".
The band always prioritizes capturing a sense of innocence, while creating abnormal juxtapositions with the way all the parts interact. The vocals are typically delivered in a soft harmony with the guitar and bass dishing out copious amounts of fuzz. The song "Like A Daydream" by Ride and voodoo queen, Marie Laveau, were central influences to the EP. Lyrically, "Keep Strong Boy" was written based on nothing more than relating to the body language and facial expressions of the actors in the movie "The Graduate". The title track, "Pick A Family", is sung from the perspective of a supportive ex-lover hoping for someone better to come along for the partner they have wronged.
Missing Sibling is currently booking regional shows for the remainder of 2012 with plans for two semi-national tours in 2013.
