30 Second Theater is vocalist and guitarist, Robert Rzepka, Peter Rzepka (guitar), Mark Rzepka (bass), and Daniel Budzioch (drums). Fusing together the best qualities of influences such as Blink-182, Nirvana, The Offspring, Green Day, and Sum 41, they are able to create a unique musical style to bring what many have been praying for; the return of good power-pop/punk-rock music.
Having all been in several high school bands during their teenage years it wasn't until about 2006 when Robert, Peter, Dan, and Mark started to seriously consider the idea of writing together and forming a band of their own. After years of their own individual empty swimming pools, talent shows, house parties, skate parks, and clubs they soon began to want for something better. Their new goal to bring the sweat and bruises earned from veteran hall mosh pits to bigger venues.
Producing and documenting their first demo, "Coming and Going," in 2008 the band quickly capitalized on their momentum by playing an outdoor Chicago festival, the Lane Tech Centennial Fest to a crowd of 600+. Constantly growing and experimenting, the band continued to play together throughout the years, achieving an opening slot at the Chicago House of Blues in 2010 with over 1,000 in attendance.
In 2009 after the loud and chaotic blur that was the House of Blues, 30 Second Theater decided to put its music on pause as members focused on other projects and aspects of their lives such as school and personal relationships.
Finding themselves missing the heat of the stage-lights and buzz of the Irish car bombs, the band soon reformed in 2011. With the rebirth of 30 S.T. came a new sound and respectively a new demo, releasing "Against All Odds" in Spring 2012 with enhanced EPK/DVD to follow. The band, now rearmed and reloaded, is again prowling Chicago with the intent of reviving the punk scene that had once ruled the airwaves. In the twisted little minds that make up 30 Second Theater, they have only succeeded if you leave their shows drenched in sweat, with a sore throat, and ringing ears.
