Poodlecannon (Marc Nasdor) has been collecting global music since the mid-1980s, when he spent a good deal of time in Hungary, spanning through the 1990s. After a fateful excursion to Bulgaria right before 9/11, his interest broadened to include Balkan and Romany (Gypsy) music. Since 2004, he has been DJ'ing international party music at several venues around New York City. From 2006-1020 he was resident DJ at the infamous Mehanata Bulgarian Bar in Manhattan from 2006-2010, and from 2011-2013 music director and the weekend DJ at the incomparable Pilsener Haus Beer Garden in Hoboken, New Jersey. Currently occasional DJ at Drom in Manhattan, and various parties, as well as semi-annual tours to Mexico City and Yucatan.
These tracks here are Poodlecannon's original compositions, as well as remixes of songs by bands with whom he is associated.
Poodlecannon's son, Emil Bognár-Nasdor, is the drummer with Røsenkøpf, and the lead singer of Dawn of Humans.
As a poet, Marc Nasdor is the author of "Sonnetailia" (Roof Books, 2007).
