Glenn Allen began his love of music as early as 2 years old and he could often be found running around with a record in his hand. Music was his calling, and as a teenager, from the moment he picked up a guitar, he was hooked. Glenn spent most of his spare time endlessly playing and perfecting songs he loved from artists that he admired.
During those formative years, in his high school music program, he learned to play and perform on snare drum, bass drum, quad toms, tympani, xylophone, drum set for jazz and pop/rock, piano, acoustic and electric guitar. Glenn naturally progressed to songwriting and during the next several years, he spent time writing as a solo artist. Glenn had suffered from a slight degree of stage fright early on that kept him from wanting to be the focus of attention, which made collaborating with others really appealing. He began writing and performing with some of the best talent in the local Sacramento scene and before long, was playing in the hottest clubs and recording in the best studios in town.
Glenn eventually made the move to Los Angeles and attended the Musicians Institute in Hollywood. There, he was exposed to many top shelf musicians and instructors, spending the majority of his time there in the audio production studios. He learned more about the recording process in a professional setting, and went on to work under several producers and engineers in the Los Angeles area as both a musician and audio engineer.
After spending nearly a decade in LA, Glenn moved to Seattle where he currently resides. He has enjoyed playing for many years in the local scene with 80s cover band Rewind, and is working on his full length, debut solo album currently being recorded at his studio, Glenn Allen Production Studio.
Glenn’s music leans toward the adult alternative, singer/songwriter genre. His songs are reflective of life, love, loss, and the emotions that go with it. His voice is honest, his guitar style is bold, and his lyrics are primarily uplifting and contemplative. Glenn’s sound is a well-rounded blend of a variety of different artists, ranging from Journey, Duncan Sheik, Keith Urban, Bruce Springsteen, Sting/The Police, John Cougar Mellencamp,Tom Petty, and Eric Johnson to name a few.
Three tracks from Glenn’s album have been released in advance, which can be found here on this site, and at most major digital retailers such as iTunes, Amazon, Google Play and many others.
