Stemming from the simple life of rural Michigan, Natalie Mae is the writer a unique collection of soul-heavy tunes that are sure to break your heart and keep you wanting more. She combines her talents on guitar, banjo, and piano to write deeply-felt and introspective songs of love, heartache, and all things that pull at the strings of the heart. She released her first record, "Waiting on You," in May 2009, which was accepted with great reviews as her first full-length album of original tunes. In July 2012, Natalie Mae released her second full-length album, "More Than You Know" with the help of her band, Her Unturned Tricks, and was nominated for Best Country/Folk Album of the Year by the Offbeat Awards. Natalie Mae & Her Unturned Tricks opened for Dr. John in September 2012 at Lafayette Square, and debuted at New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival in May 2013. Natalie Mae performs regularly in and around New Orleans and throughout the thriving folk scene in Michigan and the greater Midwest. She is currently in the middle of recording an album with longtime songwriting collaborator, Greta Mae Barnard, hopeful for a 2016 release, as well as another solo album of originals.
