Racking up over a million YouTube views, having articles in Alternative Press Magazine, and getting featured on Apple iRadio as one of iTunes most popular 2013 summer music is just a couple things Ian David has done in the recent years. Most recently Ian has released a music video for his single “I Miss You When You’re Gone” which is as Ian describes it a “Rebirthing song that will define the direction of the next album as a symbol of a new start for the project”. Since he put out his first EP in 2009 he has played hundreds of shows and has even gotten to Hollywood week on the NBC show “The Voice”.
Ian grew up in a small town called Tomball right outside of Houston, TX and started writing music when he was 15 as he says “I started singing when the lead singer in my high school band started teaching me harmonies and he just kept teaching me how to get better”. Ian, only 21, released his debut EP “Love Love” in July of 2009 and his softmore EP “Pray for Peace” soon after. Ian released his first, self-titled, full length album in the summer of 2010. Ian is so excited to be currently working on new music and says “I have never been as excited about recording music as I am on the new album”.
Ian plays all the instruments on his recordings and loves to create new sounding songs while keeping it very simple and root based at the same time. Music has always helped Ian through the hard times in his life and he wants to hopefully help other people through hard times in their life. Ian loves hearing about times when his songs have helped other people get through hard times and says that it is what inspires him to keep writing.
A music manager in the UK said this about Ian’s music “I sat and listened to this wonderful artist, every word crafted, every note played creating a perfect balance of soul and spirit, a true gentleman and a fantastic artist. Keep on making music!” Ian loves to interact online with fans and loves to meet people at shows so come out sometime and see him play!
