Based in Dunedin Florida, A long Way from Living was formed in August 2011. Band members Luke Pupke, Cole Pupke, & Tyler Petrosky, were brought together while each trying to form their own bands. Their style and sound was so unique, yet similar they decided to combine their efforts and formed A Long Way From Living. The outcome was a metalcore band with a distinctive style of mixing several genres with an objective of original material and soundtracks that don't sound similar.
Soon after that first month of rehearsal as a new band they performed their first show at The Neptune Lounge in Tarpon Springs, FL. Immediately after that first show, their fan base grew and they have achieved a loyal following. Since their second show two months later they have gained recognition within the Tampa Bay area music scene.
The show that followed was a benefit show to aid a very close friend of the band members who was stabbed multiple times by her ex boyfriend. The proceeds from that show were donated to the victim.
Soon after the benefit show the bands fourth show was booked at The Local 662 in St. Petersburg, Florida.
The Shell Agency recently booked them on the Rotten Records Show Case at The Orpheum in Tampa, Florida as their Fifth show.
The band is gratefully endorsed and promoted by: Arkaik Clothing, New Port Nowhere, Wrecked Apparel, and they are currently trying to procure an endorsement from DROP DEAD.
While the band continues to work on their EP, they continue to produce live recordings and videos, for their fans and continuously striving to perfect the quality of their rehearsal videos.
We are continuing to grow at a very fast past and none of it would have been possible without family, friends, fans, and our local scene. So we thank everyone so much for keeping up with us and staying true to the family.
