John Lowell is one of those rare triple threat musicians that come along every so often - singer/guitarist/songwriter. His clear, expressive vocals dovetail perfectly with his strong and inventive guitar playing. Originally a bluegrass guitar player, which demands a high degree of vituosity, John has expanded his sphere of music to include just about any type of acoustic music. His songs have been played and recorded all across the United States, Canada and Europe.
Having been featured on the cover of Flatpicking Guitar Magazine, and sharing the stage with Garrison Keillor on his variety radio show "A Prarie Home Companion", John is in demand with musicians and fans alike. He has beein invited to teach singing, songwriting and guitar skills at music camps all over the US, Canada and the UK.
Locally, he was the winner of Music Villa's prestigious Acoustic Spotlight, a contest to find the one person to fill out their national compilation recording.
Whether playing solo, with a duo or an 8 piece band with horns and keys, John Lowell is at home doing what he loves to do - making music.
