Vudu Sister is an original band from Providence, RI.
A matrimony of gothic elegance and rock and roll abandon.
Keith McCurdy is a Romanichal singer/songwriter accompanied by Diane O’Connor on the violin and featuring Amato Zinno on the double bass.
Their second album, Household Items, was produced and engineered by Ben Knox Miller and presented by the Columbus Recording Company. Household Items represents a complete contrast to The Sister’s debut, Bastard Children, with alt-rock and punk flavor carried out by a consistent rock band lineup.
Vudu Sister’s debut album Bastard Children was recorded in the summer of 2011 at Treading Thomas Records. Bastard Children contains dark, roots-inspired songs in a variety reminiscent to Mark Lanegan solo work and early Neil Young. The album included contributions from many prolific members of Providence’s underground music scene.
Vudu Sister have had the privilege to be a part of The Low Anthem’s “Newport Homegrown” showcase at the 2013 Newport Folk Festival. Vudu Sister have also had the honor to share the stage with such acts as Joe Fletcher and The Wrong Reasons, Dan Blakeslee, Brown Bird, The Low Anthem, Allysen Callery and Alec K. Redfearn and the Eyesores.
