A native of Baltimore, Maryland 16 year old Dylan Michael Davis is a budding performer. For the past 6 years Dylan has lived in Huntsville, AL with his mother Elizabeth and his stepfather Allen, a NASA Engineer. Currently Dylan attends Virgil Grissom High school and is a Junior working on an Advanced Diploma. Dylan picked up a guitar at age 10 and decided he would learn how to play. Under the instruction of world famed guitar teacher Jeff Beasley, Dylan worked with him for 2 years until he was able to move forward on his own. Today he figures out which song he would like to perform and within minutes can play that tune and alter it to make it his own. He is also in the process of teaching himself to play keyboard.
Dylan began performing in front of crowds at the age of 11 where he participated in a school talent show where he played a compulation of 1980’s rock music on the electric guitar. From this day forward you could see that Dylan was most comfortable on a stage. At the age of 14 Dylan began his high school career at Virgil Grissom High School here in Huntsville. He teamed up with the Theatre Department and tried out for his first Musical Theatre Production, “Beauty and the Beast.” He was cast in multiple supporting roles. The grueling rehearsal schedule proved that Dylan had what it would take to make it in show business.
In the summer of 2011 Dylan auditioned and was chosen as Lead Vocalist and Guitar Player for Trinity United Methodist Church Youth Band. Dylan's theatre credits include Alice in Wonderland and the role of Judah in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Dylan has also participated in Traumbauer District Theatre competition in Alabama and won several awards for monologues and musical theatre pieces .
In addition, Dylan has been playing open mic almost weekly at a local coffee house in Huntsville, The Coffee Tree. Being around other young performers has inspired him to pursue a career in music. Dylan also can be found performing on the streets of Bridgestreet Town Center in Huntsville.
Just recently he has become a member of TCGMA (Tennessee Country Gospel Music Association.) This past September Dylan was awarded Male Vocalist and Male Entertainer of the Year for the TCGMA. Just recently Dylan was cast as Pepe in a musical production of West Side Story which will open the first weekend of March 2013 at Virgil Grissom High School Theatre. And just this week Dylan has decided to become an Artist with Sweet Southern Entertainment Productions. Dylan has just recorded his first album entitled "Reminder" and he was also accepted to the BFA Program at AMDA (American Musical Dramatic Academy) in Los Angeles, CA. He plans to attend there in 2014!
