Jay Yung was born March 21 1990,He was Born in Peoria, Illinois but only was raised part his life there. A move to Tennessee, Now that's where he grew up! "I was a good kid and im still a good man but, i had my part of lessons" his life wan thrown off course due to Jail, half of his music career was spent behind bars.(earlier stage of his music Life) That's where he developed a more lyrical way of thinking. mixing a northern mind frame with a southern word play. only means greatness and that's what he is looking for.he hopes to one day change young kids minds/keep them in school/off the streets.
Jay Yung spent a good while perfecting his music. his lyrical word play.. being on beat/bar..musicianship even story telling. everything he has done has been his life story..things he has done. will do.. and see to accomplish! i have to admit when i first heard him it was just same o thing different name. but as his voice grew with the music he became a star! the underground should be proud to have him and major labels should be wanting to sign him. this is a true Artist and he keeps it real! i been doing a lot of research on him and his voice attracts 56% of Women and 44% of Men. his Fan base is scaled out from age groups and most his fans are in fact 16-30 but unlike most every group has marks. meaning older people take a listen to his work. and that's rare to find unless its family listening to it. "my grandma aint that type to listen to my kind of music! she more into church music, don't get me wrong its good music but it aint hip hop. still good music tho."
I once asked Jay why music? he laughed and said "self explanatory" but later when he went into detail he started to preach about how life was a down fall and how drug out the Industry really is! no he doesn't mean to diss the industry by "Drug out" its his expression on how laced the music is! that music was dying before it even started!
That Artist's today only seem to talk about BIG CARS flashy CHAINS and FUCKING any woman they want! and its when real artist are drained from the truth to nothing but lies!
I asked what he means and he told me! "look back at Tupac and Biggie " PAC rapped about everything real! Biggy took his life and made greatness" that's when he told me after they died HIP HOP died.
Now people say they slang in the HOOD but when they around the hood they the ones that are scared to be there. Jay had said once that he was born in to a violent community. and knowledge was what got him threw that part of his life! knowing what he could do and could not do. "My mom wanted better for me and my brothers and sister , but she was a single mother trying and the odds was that we couldn't live in a good community. my mother kept was out of harms way but she couldn't afford to put us in a nice house in the best schools and i love her more cause she did right by us even tho her back was against the wall."
"I chose music cause i want people to know the real side of hip hop. the real side of me! and that i push everyday to change the life's of the younger generation. my passion drives me everyday. i don't do this for the money nor do i do this for the fame! but if that's what this brings more power to that! but i refuse to spend what i get on CHAINS/ICE/CARS i will spend what i get making more music and helping out my family and get them out the Hood!
