I have over 30 years experience as a bassist and vocalist in multiple genres. My primary effort has been in the rock, blues, and country with some work in show bands and ensembles. My most powerful influences are Willy Weeks, Timothy B. Schmidt, and Glenn Worf. I have played venues from the smallest pubs, national casinos, to large-scale concert events. I performed in front of audiences in sizes ranging from 5 people to over 200,000. With my brothers, Steve, Dale and Buster, I opened the annual Cowboy Breakfast for three years straight.
I have received training in voice and bass guitar from various instructors over the years. The most memorable was a six-month, one-on-one, study with jazz session bassist, Bunny Brunel in Los Angeles. He was an exceedingly tough taskmaster.
My vocal range is alto to tenor. I am adept at backing and harmony vocals. I have also fronted and been lead singer for my own bands on several occasions. I had a power vocal trio in San Antonio for a year named Desert Wind that played Southern Rock, Country, and a good dose of Rock and Blues. I recently returned from a three-year visit to Korea where I fronted the established classic rock band, The Bad Moon Band. Ostensibly a Creedence Clearwater Revival cover band; we covered a wide variety of artists.
Carvin Manufacturing endorsed me for my basses and amplifiers from 1996 until 1999, when the Vice President of Artist Relations, David Flores, retired.
