Big Joe Kennedy is one of today's hottest young performers. With his thumping, swinging piano and booming voice, Big Joe's talent brings audiences around the world to their feet. Whether he's laying his heart on the line with a soulful rendition of “Georgia On My Mind” or burning a hole through the piano playing “Great Balls Of Fire” Big Joe Kennedy is a real crowd pleaser. He'll even surprise you with his brilliant rendition of “Mack The Knife.”
Joe got his start in back alley juke joints and seedy clubs along the shores of Lake Michigan with Delta Blues and Chicago Blues artists in the midwest. Quickly honing his skills he was voted the “Best Blues Pianist” by his home state of Wisconsin at the age of 20. At 23 he was performing regular engagements on the Las Vegas Strip at many of the top Hotel/Casino's.
Big Joe also spent two years performing nightly in the French Quarter in New Orleans. His style has been compared to Harry Connick Jr. and Ray Charles and he's always ready to show you why.
Big Joe Kennedy is an artist not to be missed. He charms his audience out of their seats and onto the stage; his high energy performance never fails. Las Vegas City Life raves, "He might be one of the youngest, but he’s got to be one of the best this city’s ever seen.” And Max Ink Music Magazine hails “Big Joe Kennedy is The PIANO MAN, high in demand, and above the cherry with chops. Kennedy is a treasure!”
Joe is glad to be back in the New Orleans music scene performing full time with the DUKES of Dixieland (www.dukesofdixieland.com), solo piano, jazz trio and with his 7 piece funky jazzy band, The Joe Kennedy Project.
