Who is Supa? Supa aka Kaotik D is a 27 year old hip hop phenomenon from Louisville, KY. Hip Hop, Rap, Pop, R&B, you name it, he does it; and does it well. “(Supa)‘s complex punch lines and metaphors make you think twice; that along with his freestyle battling roots make him a lyrical monster, a force to be reckoned with.” In recent years however, his songwriting abilities have come to light, with many of his latest songs containing melodic rhyme schemes that seem nearly impossible to recreate, but irresistible to listen to and sing along with.
Supa has been working extremely hard behind the scenes, writing, recording, directing, even editing; determined to lay the foundation for what many agree will be a bright future. The third installment of his “I Heart White People” series has attracted serious attention and has inspired him to come back on the scene harder than ever. Digital releases and music videos from #IHWP3 for the singles “Strap” & “RyTyme” are currently in development, a16 city promo tour will be starting February 21st, and “Kaotik D is Back”, the much anticipated album, will be releasing in the spring of 2015. You can find his music on Audio Mack, Reverb Nation, & Sound Cloud.
Supa has been preparing for a career in the music industry since childhood. Becoming a member of the esteemed West Louisville Boy’s Choir at the age of 10 he received formal training. This blossomed to a love of rhyme and cadence. After graduating from the Youth Performing Arts School at age 12 he was a young freestyle battler on his way to an impressively undeniable 600+ wins. Before his first semester of college he was already touring nationwide, sharing the stage with the likes of T.I., Young Jeezy, Bun B, Rick Ross, Yo Gotti, and many more. Winning a tryout battle tournament for BET’s106 & Park introduced him to some industry contacts who still mentor him today. Although he never returned to compete again, he still garnished enough exposure to be invited to the Ozone awards, in Orlando, FL the following year.
You can’t help but give rave reviews on his style, creativity, and uniqueness. With his intricate flow and heavy hitting punchlines, any hip hop head is sure to get the feelings of nostalgia. With over 12,000 fans and counting nationwide, people just can’t seem to get enough of his genre defying “Pop-Hop” approach to music. He uses a unique ability to conquer over all types of production and thoroughly enjoys merging hardcore rap beats and/or lyrics with Top 40 style Pop/R&B melodies and harmonies. All this being said it’s his love and appreciation for all types of music that shines through in every song he touches. With a timeless, sophisticated, yet gritty flow; Supa catches your ear, engages your mind, and steals your heart.
