Stompin' on Spiders stripped-back acoustic blues/rock style blends the traditional ethos of blues music with a very modern edge. It is the "new tradition" some pundits have claimed; a radical mix of blues and acoustic rock that is inspired by everyday events and experiences of 21st Century life. The "new tradition" sound is enjoyed by some blues traditionalists and blacklisted by many others, yet there is a growing army of "spider stompers" and blues and rock radio stations across the planet, who now associate with the band's "new tradition" sound.
Stompin' on Spiders have recently released "BLACKLISTED", their third studio album. Although "BLACKLISTED" stays with the "New Tradition" Blues ethos, elements of experimentation in other musical styles are now coming to the fore, demonstrating a maturity in the band's song writing and a willingness to break away from the shackles of being "just another blues band".
The band have enjoyed international notoriety, starting with the release of their début studio album "Follow My Thread" in 2010 and then the worthy follow-up, nine track album, “Nothing to Declare” in 2012 with positive responses from listeners and radio stations in Great Britain, Australia, USA, Canada, Japan, New Zealand and the Canary Islands!
The release of "BLACKLISTED" in 2014 has maintained the momentum for fresh Stompin' on Spiders material for the worldwide audience and the tantalising expectation that the band will be releasing more original "new tradition" music at gigs and public appearances throughout 2015, is always on the cards.
