Every decade the music industry is introduced to an artist that has a gift that makes you take a second look. Khryz Henry is that kind of artist. Khryz Henry’s incredible journey started in the heart of the Bronx. It is where he first learned about Christ through his parent’s strong faith. His father was a musician and his mother was a choir director, his father heard a calling on the lives of his children and received a prophesy that if he moved his family south to Atlanta, his children would be blessed musically.
Sometimes as a youth it is hard to find your purpose in life, however sometimes you are just destined to do a certain thing. When Khryz was younger he was reserved and quite. However, Khryz found his calling in the church as he began directing choirs. His mother saw a natural ability in him as he directed his first choir at the age of 12, she took him under her wings to teach him the fundamentals of directing.
In the summer of 2000, he formed Khryz Henry & MIC, and since has been catching the attention of concert-goers with their exciting live show and powerful worship style. While maintaining an identity all their own, Khryz Henry & MIC has drawn many musical comparisons to their various influences including Tye Tribbett, Kirk Franklin and others in that sub-genre of neo-gospel. Khryz Henry & MIC is a group that has a heart for the youth of today. They believe as the word of Christ reaches more youth, that they, the youth, will be the key to the success of future generations. With their first CD to be soon released September 2011, Khryz Henry & MIC is likely not far from being a name recognized in youth groups and churches across the country. Since starting this group, Khryz Henry & MIC has shared billing with such prestigious acts as Darryl Coley, Dr. Bobby Jones & the Nashville Super Choir, Paul Morton, Sonya McGuire and many more. They bring with them a true sense of professionalism, joy and ministry wherever and whenever they play.
