Song Remains the Sames consists of Anthony Bianchi, Nick Sterling, Fil Lopez, and Nick Marshall.
Song Remains the Same formed in July of 2012 in Phoenix, Arizona as a tribute to the music of Led Zeppelin. Fans are impressed by the band’s ability to bring not only the visual element, but the legendary musical depth that Led Zeppelin was known for. From Anthony Bianchi’s passionate, bluesy vocals to Nick Sterling’s improvisational genius to Fil Lopez’s note-for-note duplication of John Bonham’s live performance to Nick Marshall’s multi-faceted musical talents, Song Remains the Same transports the audience back in time. Their shows span the entire Led Zeppelin catalog, including songs and versions Led Zeppelin never played live. Their broad range appeals not only to the casual audience but to the die-hard fans looking to get the led out!
ANTHONY BIANCHI as Robert Anthony Plant – Vocals
Offering muscular and authoritative lead vocals, Anthony Bianchi has been a prominent lead vocalist in the East Coast and Southern California music scenes for many years. He has enjoyed the guidance of his vocal coach and friend, Jack Russell, vocalist, founder and writer of Great White. Anthony has performed on the local and national levels. He possesses the rare ability to sing the full range of hard rock genres at full power, with an aggressive edge that most singers cannot reach. His delivery is intimate and deliberate; he captivates audiences by conveying the soul of each song. His musical influences include Jack Russell’s Great White, Led Zeppelin, Robert Plant, Warrant, Joe Satriani, Steve Perry, Don Dokken, Stephen Pearcy, and Ozzy Osbourne. Anthony is a founding member of Song Remains the Same from July of 2012 and continues to emulate Robert Plant for a national audience.
NICK STERLING as Jimmy Page – Guitar, Backup Vocals, Theremin
Nick Sterling is a gifted guitar player and songwriter from Mesa, Arizona. He started learning guitar at seven years old; by the age of ten, he had released his first CD, Ten and shared a stage with Alice Cooper at a New Year’s Eve concert. When he was 13, guitarist Dave Mason expressed admiration for his talent. In 2005 he released his second CD, Life Goes On. On both albums, Nick recorded all the vocals and played all the instruments himself. In 2010, he released his third album, Invisible. Nick has played with a number of other famous musicians, including: Aerosmith, Kid Rock, Cheap Trick, Cinderella, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Eric Johnson, Gary Hoey, Peter Frampton, Gavin Degraw, Bachman–Turner Overdrive, Jackyl, Sebastian Bach, and Guns N’ Roses. Since 2008, he has been a columnist for Modern Guitars Magazine.
In 2009 Nick joined Sebastian Bach as his new guitarist, touring the US, South America and Europe. He had a major hand in writing and recording “Kicking and Screaming”, Bach’s newest album. Nick split with Bach in 2012, returning to Phoenix to pursue new avenues for his musical genius. He joined Song Remains the Same in September of 2012 and now plays the role of Jimmy Page. Along with Song Remains the Same, he has a few other music projects, including Soul on Fire and WYVES.
FIL LOPEZ as John Henry Bonham AKA “Bonzo” – Percussion
Fil Lopez began playing drums at ten years old. He played in drum and bugle corps and studied under P.I.T. graduate Brett Frederickson for 10 years. He started off his rock career playing in progressive rock bands in Arizona such as Sanctions, 6 or 9 and 357, always with Zeppelin as his favorite band. His biggest influences include John Bonham, Buddy Rich and other jazz greats. Fil joined Song Remains the Same in July of 2013, and since then, he has been emulating Bonzo’s live performances note-for-note.
NICK MARSHALL as John Paul Jones – Bass Guitar, Keyboard, Mandolin
Nick Marshall was born and raised in Phoenix, AZ. Early on, Nick started off playing piano, violin and the clarinet. In high school, he started working as an engineer in a local recording studio, where he decided to pick up the bass. Since then, Nick has become a local fireman and has been playing bass for a few local churches and other small projects. Nicks influences include Earth, Wind and Fire, Smashing Pumpkins, RHCP, Stevie Wonder and various Christian artists. Nick is founding member of Song Remains the Same from July of 2012 and now plays the role of John Paul Jones.
HARRISON WALTER as Jimmy Page – Guitar
Harrison Walter was born in Phoenix, Arizona in 1987. He began playing guitar at age 14. At 18, he enrolled at Arizona State University and shortly after, auditioned into the classical guitar studio in the School of Music under Frank Koonce. He graduated with degrees in music and chemistry in May 2011. From 2010, to 2013, he played with the the heavy metal band Chemicals of Democracy and appeared on their debut album “The American Scream,” produced by British Grammy-nominated producer Chris Tsangarides.
He was a founding member of Song Remains the Same in July of 2012, but moved to Seattle, Washington in June 2015, and still joins Song Remains the Same occasionally on stage!
