Dean Taylor & The Better Days / Bio

What if Tom Petty and The Wallflowers joined up with John Mellencamp? It might sound a lot like Dean Taylor! Guitar based Roots Rock with a Folk sensibility sung with an expressive, earthy voice. Check it out, you'll like it!

After ten years of playing bass guitar professionally in a variety of bands, duos and trios throughout the Southeast, Dean added to his artistic interests by pursuing other areas of the entertainment industry including an actor in TV shows, feature films and commercials, Mobile DJ, Corporate Entertainment Producer and Audio/Video engineer. However, the call of music kept nagging until he concentrated on his original songwriting and recorded a full length CD in 2003 entitled "so far" available for sale at www.cdbaby.com/cd/deantaylor. This impressive all original debut brings Dean Taylor back to his musical roots. Combining 70's and 80's Classic Rock influences with an acoustic approach to his Folk/Americana songwriting has resulted in a truly unique combination of styles that seem familiar yet unlike what you've heard before. Dean is still writing and recording original songs for an upcoming release tentatively titled Blind Curve.

Dean met Lou Carta in 2011 through another band project. After hearing Dean's original songs Lou was so impressed that he insisted they work together on forming an original band to perform the recordings live. With Lou's lead guitar and Dean's guitar and vocals, the duo knew they were on to something. Together they found the drumsticks of Mark Robison, and The Better Days was formed. With the addition of Mike Lavasseur on the keyboard, their signature sound was formed. Now with an incredible 4 lead singers in the band, their repertoire includes great Classic Rock cover songs with stand out with impressive 4 part harmonies. These truly are "The Better Days".

Dean Taylor & The Better Days has already opened for The Artimus Pyle Band (Lynyrd Skynyrd) and have headlined their own concerts around the Atlanta area including Atlantic Station, City of Duluth and Wild Bill's as well as many local bars, clubs and pubs around the Atlanta area.
