In the early days there was never a weekend when music wasn't pouring from the Riley kitchen radio. Hank, George, Johnny and Merle left an indelible mark on Stan as did the Stones, Beatles, Bill Withers and Lynyrd Skynyrd.
As a Singer/Songwriter Stan's original music is steeped in Faith, Family, Love and Struggle and within a few chords, you'll hear that he hasn't strayed from those early influences. With a soulful voice, heart for God, and the motto of "Love 'em all" you will not leave Stan's show disappointed!
Believe it or not, while music has always been a part of my life, my involvement consisted of listening to a variety of genres, and singing along with the radio and an occasional karaoke performance until I turned my life over to the loving arms of Christ on September 24, 2006 at the age of 41. Soon after I felt God leading me to do more with music and I began to sing on the Worship team at Gracepoint Church of Belvidere. I watched the guitar players. I loved their sounds. I was impressed with their skills. I also thought I had a song in me somewhere trying to get out so... I got a hand-me-down guitar, taught myself a few chords and wrote my first song "Dance With Jesus"... whiiiiich pretty much only my wife has heard! :)
I joined the TOW Praise Band in 2008 and for the love, kindness and patience of the band, my playing, writing and vocals improved to the point where I was encouraged to begin the Stan Riley Music ministry. While I'm no longer a full time TOW Band member, these dear, dear friends and I are very supportive of each others ministries and we look forward to playing with each other again soon. On The Reverbnation page you will hear new songs released in 2015 and a few I released with the TOW Band in 2011.
