Tony Young / Bio

A native Floridian, this wild-eyed country boy was raised up in the rollin' red clay hills of North Florida. For the past 25 years, Young has played the club and festival circuit throughout the Southeast, sharing the stage with the likes of B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Styx, 38 Special, Survivor, Molly Hatchet, Edgar Winter, Clarence Carter, Percy Sledge, George Clinton, Trace Adkins, John Michael Montgomery, Diamond Rio, Jamey Johnson and Tracy Lawrence. His hit song "Waitin' on Tom" quickly became an anthem for turkey hunters across the country after it became the theme song for the National Wild Turkey Federation's TV show. A graduate of Florida State University, when Young is not performing, he serves as Florida's hunting spokesman for the state's fish and game department. Besides writing music, he also makes a living as an outdoor writer and even hosted his own hunting and fishing TV show. He lives with his wife, youngest daughter and bloodhound in Tallahassee, Florida, and enjoys hunting, fishing, boating and attending Florida State University sporting events.
