Acid Uprising is a unique hybrid-metal band from Mission Hills, CA formed in the Fall of 2009 by Shaun (guitar), Konstantyn (bass), and yours truly (Brian) on drums. Our original purpose was to drink beer and make noise. Either we drank too much beer or the noise was intolerable for Shaun and he left after about a month. Luckily, Denis stepped in and took over the axe duties. We spent about 6 months fucking around and having a good time before we realized we were actually coming up with some interesting music. We decided to start taking the project more seriously and to find a singer and second guitarist. Easier said than done. We went the Cragslist route for another six months or so, weeding though the cavalcade of Los Angeles weirdos and flakes. We found a few cool people to jam with but nobody that was a good fit for us. Finally, in late 2010 we solidified the line-up with Ali on vocals and Killian on rhythm/lead guitar. With a full roster we were able to fine-tune our sound and played our first gig in February of 2011. We just completed a seven-song demo and are ready to play the shit out of Southern California.
I have trouble describing our style to people because we don't seem to fit into any particular niche. Overall Acid Uprising is fast, hard, and aggressive, but they haven't come up with a sub-genre for us yet. We have a wide range of influences and each individual band member has his own specialty. What this diversity has given us is a metal sound with old-school thrash and hardcore mixed with hard rock, punk and even some doom. Hell, there's even hints of blues and Southern rock sprinkled in there. Lyrically, we are as eclectic as our music with themes ranging from the end of the world to what a bitch my ex-girlfriend was. Basically we are just five guys trying to make the best music we can.
