“Legend is long with tales of Perley & The Howlin’ Moons’ love for and the wake of destruction left after their live shows. Very rarely does the legend live up to the reality, but Perley is the very welcomed exception to that rule. “Hey Kid,” the band’s latest release, hints at a rollicking nature. Live, the band cuts loose and rises to a level of foot-stomping chaos that is unrivaled. Case in point, the band closed with “Athens” and “Athens (Reprise).” The songs, which, open and close “Hey Kid” are fairly heavy rockers recorded. In concert, live and unabandoned, the songs are incendiary. The high-water mark for concerts in Pittsburgh has been set high and it is just the first of the year. One thing is certain for the rest of the year, though, if Perley & The Howlin’ Moons are marked to tour your town don’t miss out.”
