    Museum of the African Diaspora in collaboration with the Jazzschool presents Jazz in the Gallery, a lecture/concert series in conjunction with Textural Rhythms: Constructing the Jazz Tradition, an exhibition curated by founder and coordinator of the Women of Color Quilters Network, Dr. Carolyn Mazloomi. Textural Rhythms unites two of the best-known artistic forms in African- American culture, jazz and quilting. The exhibition includes 64 quilts from America’s best known African-American quilters, including Michael Cummings, Edjohnetta Miller, Tina Brewer, and Jim Smoote, as well as quilts by top Bay Area quilters Marion Coleman and Alice M. Beasley.
