Virginia Rose Band / Press

“I just bought this CD last night and it's already made its way into my regular rotation/playlist. It's a great album! From the first minute of the first track, it pulls you in, and holds you there throughout the whole album. There's certainly a diversity of sounds between the tracks (and even within the same song, sometimes), but the overall vibe is very seductive; smooth and melodic until it catches you off-guard with a hint at VRB's louder, heavier influences. I've had the privilege of seeing these guys live and every one of them has huge, great energy, so I was expecting the album to be much harsher. Compared with the live sound, this is more refined but not polished - still a little bit of that awesomely dirty, gritty rock sound. Virginia's voice is dark and evocative; sometimes the music compliments that vibe and sometimes it creates a really cool contrast. Over all, I definitely recommend this to anyone who likes some dark beauty with their rock.”

"We all will hear more from Virginia Rose Band regionally and that is a guarantee, this band is a family and what the band requires comes first with these members. The entire scene up there is a huge family and to be welcomed in such a warming fashion only confirms that fact. These bands succeed together in their region and it shows on the stage!"

"Ms. Rose haunts vocally in the style of Amy Lee within the Evanescence camp and in a similar style to most of the harder selections this line up offers any audience. Their single 'Wake up,' was a rather large hit with the panelists for the event, and with the library they pack this band is another merely at the starting gate."

" ....Virginia Rose.... With her matching, firey red locks complimenting her red dress for this performance, it was clear where the focus needed to be! This vocal firehouse is backed by a six piece band that means business where sound and song layout are concerned, they alter their song style to cover things in variety but still maintain their unique sound and vocal styles. The lovely Virginia has written everything original this band performs, as she has written music since she as ten years old!"

“Virginia Rose Band, probably one of the most talented collection of musicians to make original music in the Bay Area. Their songs are powerful and will be just as relevant and relate-able years from now as they are now. VRB does not write flavor of the week music or follow others, they innovate they create a new sound, they evolve.”

“Just when you think you have heard the best Virginia Rose Band song they release an even better one. Virginia Rose writes from the heart, you feel the love, the pain, the hope and the energy that she has personally experienced.”

“The production quality of these track are superb with producer/drummer Ryan Dutton at the controls. Ryan finds ways of pushing the sound of this music to the limit. Guitarist Devon Wolf, adds eclectic music influence from blues, reggae, classic rock and more. Bassist Yoshi Gish adds his alternative/punk style to help give this band their edge. Keyboardist, Paul, brings the songs to a more cerebral cosmic level with his style of playing. Together this band is kicking ass at each and every show they perform at, and big things are in the works for VRB as they get ready to release their debut EP.”
