Uglyography began in the summer of 2005 in the attic of an old home in Hampton, VA. Finding his way around his home-built recording studio, Matthew Thomas (formerly of The Outer Loop, Lord Bowler, and Grease Sky Band) wrote and recorded his first solo album, Love Boat. He named his project Uglyography in honor of his terriblly illegible handwriting.
