Victor can’t remember a time when music wasn’t part of his life. As early as five years old, Victor recalls listening to his dads eight track recordings of Reno and Smiley from their home in Gainesville, Florida. At the age of twelve, Victor learned to play the fiddle. Age thirteen, he bought a guitar for $20 with a third string that had to be tuned with pliers. With such determination, it didn’t take long to get the attention of his uncle, James Rogers and was invited to play rhythm guitar with the Rogers Family Band with which he was a member until the age of nineteen. Though Victor is a third generation musician steeped in traditional style bluegrass, his greatest desire has always been to have a family band of his own featuring “tight family harmony”. On stage, he is now accompanied by three of his greatest friends in the world. The banjo player, Keith Bass from Okeechobee, and the other two, his children, Kalyn and Bryce. Family harmony you can depend on!

Kalyn is fifteen years old and in the tenth grade.  Her passion for music is very evident both onstage and off.  Kalyn’s first stage appearance was when she walked on stage in the middle of the Rogers Family show in 1995.  Though Kalyn plays guitar and mandolin, her instrument of choice is the upright bass.  When she was 10 years old, she was given a student model bass for Christmas.  She learned to play well on a less than professional brand and soon bought her own orchestral Becker bass.  Kalyn is a founding member of Tomorrow’s News and provides both lead and harmony vocals to the band.  She has recently discovered the gift of song writing and is currently writing songs for the band.  She home schools through Families of Faith which allows her to be a part of many shows most kids her age would only dream of performing.   Kalyn also enjoys all the other things a girl her age would, like shopping, cooking, talking on the phone, and spending time with family.

Bryce is fourteen years old and his greatest passion is playing any instrument with strings.  Bryce was five years old when he received his first guitar and learned to play “Wild Wood Flower.” He was given a mandolin at the age of nine and quickly found that it was the instrument he would call his own.  Bryce, also a founding member, sings baritone and plays mandolin with Tomorrow’s News. He enjoys  playing and listening to many other genres of music which greatly influences his mandolin style.  Bryce embraces any opportunity to teach and share bluegrass music with other kids his age.  Bryce is also a home schooled student and enjoys the freedom it gives him to travel and make friends playing the music he loves.

Keith is the oldest member of the group. He is well known around the state of Florida, Kentucky and North Carolina for his clean hard driving style of banjo. Keith started playing the guitar at the age of twelve and the banjo at the age of thirteen. He played several years with the seven time Florida State Champion bluegrass band, “The Prospectors” which also competed at SPGMA in the early 90’s. Keith has won several Florida State banjo competitions.  He also took first place in the North Carolina banjo competition with The Prospectors also winning first place. Keith and his wife Darlene are truly blessed to be part of Tomorrow’s News with the Hall family.  It is great to have the unity in a band like that of a family and it shows in their performances.
