Tim has been a musician for most of his life, or at least, for as long as he can remember.
Tim's parents enrolled him in Royal Conservatory Piano training at an early age; this began his journey into the world of music. At age ten, he began to feel the pull of the drum kit and by age 12, he started thumping out rhythms on pillows. Tim enrolled in his high-school's music program and began to spend his lunch hour learning and playing drums. He was very fortunate to have had a great music teacher, Steve Powell, who not only encouraged him to learn, but also encouraged Tim to work on arranging his own parts for the songs that the class was performing. Steve found that the charted drum parts in some pieces were uninteresting and he frequently encouraged Tim to "wing-it" inspiring Tim to be creative.
Tim has performed with many bands and solo artists and is in high demand as a drummer; he actively listens and plays “for the song” and not for himself. Tim is very experienced in using loops and click tracks during recording and has no trouble "holding the click".
Tim is a composer, having had his original pieces played worldwide on stage, cinema, television, radio, and in the theatre. These compositions range from television commercials to Hollywood movies to New York theatre and more.
Tim is a producer; he has produced music for bands, solo artists, and his own compositions. Music that he has produced has travelled the world and his music has been heard on stage, cinema, television, radio, and in the theatre.
Tim's studio, Blue Punkin, has been the site of some excellent recordings of artists such as Amanda Mabro and Andrea Revel as well as his own compositions. For example, the commercial campaign "Brave New Dorm", for Target Department Stores, was recorded and mixed at Blue Punkin in the spring of 2007.
Tim is an active member of SOCAN, BMI, CARAS, NARAS and has also been on the jury of several FACTOR panels. He is a member of the American Federation of Musicians (local 406).
Tim has worked with some very talented people, including Amanda Mabro, Andrea Revel, Eliane Amherd, Natasha Alexandra (NLX), Maia Davies, Katie Sevigny, Nicka, Alex Cuber, Martin Robichaud, Chris Cuber, Paul Casey, and many others.
