The Press often entitles Thora as the Gothic Metal discovery of the year. Indeed are magazines as Orkus, Zillo and Sonic Seducer full of praise and extremly good reviews for the 1999 founded band from Aachen. Thora manages to unite musical brillance, versatility and charisma to burst / stand out of the masses / common.

While other groups fall upon using the same patterns over and over again Thora produces a multitude of potential hits just like that. According to that it was no surprise that Thora won not just the Jägermeister Band contest and therefore played in the supporting programme HIM, but also they won the Metal Hammer Battle, which got them on stage at the Wacken Open Air 2004. On the WGT 2005 Thora’s appearance again totally enthused the audience and besides that they caught the interest of fear section manager Chris Pohl, which got Thora their first record deal.

In 2006 Thora was among Leaves Eyes and Maroon headliner of the WGSOAF-festival, where again they achieved an amazing / breath-taking performance.

Thora combines the melancholic and melodic catchy tunes of bands like Dreadful Shadows or HIM with the metal force / power of Paradise Lost, but still they have their very own style, which will not just take alternative, gothic and metal clubs by storm, but even concert halls and open air stages.

With their new songs Thora should be one of the most interesting new bands in Germany.
