About
THE SHOREBIRDS are rock band from Brooklyn that deliver, high heel breaking, timeless music.
Duo guitar work of singer Mark Ephraim and Dan Weber infuse straightforward riffs into hipswaying rhythms, with upfront, powerful melodic vocals. Many fans try to pinpoint the singular influence of the Shorebirds, and never quite come up with the same summary. "The Pretenders with Eric Burden on vocals" or "Jim Morrison mixed with Morrisey fronting The Strokes", are clever quotes attempting to find the secret recipe that make the Shorebirds so unique. Upon hearing their most recent recording E.P. "Ribbon" or seeing this energetic band live, one senses the immediate attention this band demands from the moment they step up on the stage. The Dark Wuriltzer hammering by Sam Taylor, smooth classic bass style of Sara Press, and the backbeat, no bullshit, drums by Chris Egan hold the crowd at bay while the Shorebirds take well crafted "pop" songs and make them well rounded "life" songs.
The Shorebirds will be releasing a new L.P. by way of Swedish label, Groover Recordings, and will be touring Scandinavia and the U.K. come spring 2007.
