“The term "Runnin' On Empty" should refer to the audience, instead of the band of that name because once the band starts playing, the crowd gets energized from listening to them and starts movin' with the songs. The Runnin' On Empty band played at LuLu Shriners Liberty Pro Rodeo in September and really got the audience and workers into the music, so much that some workers came out of their stands to begin dancing beside the stand. And the band is not afraid to get involved with the event where it is playing. First, Rich Tipton of the band practiced the National Anthem while standing in the middle of the bulls that the cowboys would be riding, and he did so well then that even the bulls stood around listening. After returning to the stage with the other band members, they began filling the midway with good ol' country music that filled the midway and got people listening, enjoying the music, and feeling good.”
