The Nillaz are the type of guys that would take your mother on a date to a strip club while high on PCP and buy her drinks all night and then leave her with the bill. Formed in New York City in 2003, the Nillaz’s self-described brand of “crunk rock” combines the shouted vocals of Lil’ John and the liquid flow of Outkast with punk guitars and new wave keyboards. The subjects referenced in JaVa and Ill-On’s dynamic vocals range anywhere from drugs to women, and then back to drugs again. Along with bandleader Ethos Forbes and his musical cohorts, these frantic MC’s took their one-of-a-kind show on the road on the Vans Warped Tour in 2005 and 2006 and played showcases at CMJ in 2004 and 2006.
