“The band has an indie sound with a mix of shoegazing and grunge elements influenced by bands from Ride to Alice in Chains. There are some brilliant sounds coming out of the guitars going from laid back distortion to loud thrashes. These are backed up by some solid drumming that follows the rhythm. The music is led by some solid vocals that go from being soft and laid back to loud and heavy as the music progresses. While the general style is fairly consistent the sounds go off in a few different directions. There are some atmospheric metal moments such as the album opener Ego and Gone tomorrow. This is a very promising debut release that shows the bands ability to move from heavy to soft moments with ease while developing their own distinct sound at the same time. If you liked the music of the indie/grunge sounds of the early 90s then this is well worth checking out!”

I currently have the promotional version of the CD, and this album has been on high rotation at The Point HQ since acquiring it on Friday night. There’s been rumblings and rumours of this Sunshine Coast band to check out, but thing is I keep hearing different stories about their sound. Minor Elite have managed to cast a net over the sound of the 90s and drag the hefty net of sounds into 2010. This scores major points from me, being a massive nut for 90s music. The production is there, the grungy guitar, intricate almost jazz/folk drumming, big full bass, and big, raw vocals with lyrics that should be cast onto pages and bound in leather.”
