The Effects..

The Effects are Tyler, Stevie, Joe and Chris from West London, with a brand of music to drink, dance and sing to. Formed from the ashes of 4 different bands, no two songs sound the same. Too many influences, too many requests to turn down the volume, more cheek than you can shake a synth-driven guitar choon at. Who cares about genre.. Conforming is boring so get a haircut, give your drainpipes back to oxfam and experience the Effects.

Reviews of Maybe You Do from Garageband.com ;

..A good combination of quality pop songwriting and some creative production and arrangement ideas. the song is quite accessible, with a dark edge to it. the lyrics feature some interesting symbolism and although the structure is very catchy, have an introspective, personal feel and the vocals are well done, with a good sense of melody and phrasing. slightly spooky mood, enhanced by some cool keyboard textures and that simple, yet very addictive and very effective guitar/bass riff. the drums are driving and energetic and yet spacious with a beat that gets you nodding along but there's a lot of depth with the band taking a whole song approach rather than opting for flashiness for it's own sake. great song and perfomance

..Off the bat, the hook comes in (very interpol sounding) and I like it. The verse is strong, and the production gives me the mood of walking around the street in a movie looking for the girl. I was hoping for a better hooky chorus; maybe add some heavy guitar but this is new wave sounding. The verse are so warming and the pre-chorus has it, it's the main chorus that just needs some work. Good work from a band that sounds like they have it together.
