Made up of brothers Ran (guitars/vocals/keys) and Ricky Jackson (bass/vocals/guitars) and drummer Svend Lerche, the guys have been selling out clubs in Los Angeles and winning loyal supporters the world over.  The band appeared on “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson” just days after Craig saw them play the legendary Viper Room.  A few months later, in the Spring of 2007, the band signed with Sony/Epic Records in NY, and began collaborating with famed Los Angelean Linda Perry, as well as with numerous bands, including Collective Soul, OneRepublic, Our Lady Peace and Tonic.
The Daylights' songs are currently featured in a host of movies and TV shows (Grandma's Boy, Palo Alto, the theme song to ABC's The Big Day, One Tree Hill, Las Vegas, Providence, Laguna Beach, etc.), and have even been enshrined in the video game world with a cult following known as The Sims.
The guys are notorious for writing incessantly, being just as much inspired by the literary greats (Steinbeck, Rilke and Dostoyevsky, for example) as they are by the melodic ones.  What truly sets their music apart is that they actually have something to say:

“I stole a car in my head, just to give a friend a lift, up the coast, somewhere close to San Fran.  I robbed a bank just for love, to give to those who don't have much... take the cash, buy life back, I'll take the heat.”
- from “If Words Were Bullets”

“Oh, and I'll wait my turn and get along till my voice gets heard...Oh, and I'll stand in line while they call out names, though they haven't called mine...It's another man's life, it's another man's fight, it's another man's wage...Oh, it's another man's love, it's another man's dream, it's another man's day.”
- from “Another Man's Day”
“Standing on the edge of a beginning and an end...so this is what it feels like... the 87th floor of a high rise in New York... ah, but there's something new this time.”
- from “Outsider”

The band is building a fan base the old-fashioned way – touring relentlessly coast to coast.  They're currently on the OneRepublic Dreaming Out Loud National Tour, playing to sold-out crowds in some of America's most legendary venues.
“Every night we play, our goal is just to connect with someone new,” says Ran.
The Daylights have already started recording their first international release with one of England's most sought-after producers, Jim Abbiss (Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian, The Verve), and will be finish up recording early this spring with famed producer Mike Hedges (U2, The Cure, Dido).  It's hardly a long shot to say you'll be hearing more of The Daylights very, very soon.
