Bio
TeeWanz ("tee" + "W-on-z") aka Michael Wansley has been performing since age 5 singing songs from the radio on the playground. His love of the radio and the joy of singing led him to sing in church, school, on the street, almost anywhere, anytime and for anyone!
In high school, Tee started writing his own songs after teaching himself how to play piano. He moved on to college and studied composition, arranging, jazz and choral performance along with learning drums, bass and guitar.
After moving to Seattle in 1986, Tee formed Life Ring, a funk/rock outfit that got critical acclaim for their single "All One People" and was known for their stone solid grooves and wicked guitars. In 1996 Wanz was asked to front "The Ghetto Monks" and gained a reputation as an energetic showman.
After the release of "Pop Vulture" (2000), Wanz met up with local rap producer D. Sane of Street Level Records. Wanz's smooth vocals, rich harmonies and catchy hooks gained him the reputation of "The Nate-Dog of the Northend" in Seattle.
Now after taking a few years away, Wanz decided to write and record a lullaby for his granddaughter ("Little Princess"). He has returned to the game bringing his own sense of style of R&B/Soul/Hip-Hop/Pop to the table. Tight, intelligent, listener-friendly perspectives from this modern-day Bill Withers. Check out the smooth grooves of TeeWanz!
